The Rustic Cottage

If you are a group of max 8-12 pax, looking for 4 rooms for private getaway, at an offbeat, quite and secluded place, away from the hustle bustle of the towns, an experiential retreat, in the wilderness, with professional services, hospitality and hygiene, we have curated Elysia. Elysia is a part of The Estate which has 6 rooms and a two floor dining and lounge.

Tucked on one side of The Estate, this four room cottage overlooks the Almora valley and Himalayas, facing North, providing one of the best views on the Estate. This cottage provides enough space for the group to have their private time. This cottage has 4 rustic rooms, Aine, Asteria, Bari and Cyfrin. All rooms are independent with ensuite washrooms. Aine and Asteria are on the upper level with wooden flooring, higher roofs and small patio outside the room whereas Bari and Cyfrin are on lower level with stone flooring, lower roof and big patio outside the room.

Elysia has a rustic charm in it, made of locally sourced materials (Mud, Stone and Wood), in pahadi style fused with contemporary furnishings, bath fittings etc to provide a homelike comfort. The structure uses mud to bind the stones together and the technique is called “mitti chinai”. The interior walls of the cottage are mud plastered traditionally called “mitti lipai” to retain natural warmth. The entire space is a breathing structure due to the usage of natural materials only.
